CLUB AIMS

The club aims to provide all students with an ability to use the inherent skills developed in the study of Karate to increase the ability of SELF DEFENCE in addition to the PHYSICAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL attributes known to increase by prolonged training.

SELF DEFENCE

The body's natural weapons are systematically trained and concentration and awareness heightened so that the karateka can effectively deal with and attack. The increased self confidence, courage, and positive mental attitude gained through Karate practice will provide you with the ability to face dangerous situations and reduce the probability of attack.

PHYSICAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL BENEFITS

Regular Karate training provides excellent all round exercise developing all aspects of fitness. With regular training you will gain increased flexibility, co-ordination, agility, endurance, speed, and power and develop quicker reflexes.

Once these physical changes take place, they soon lead to mental and emotional improvements that many people seek. The improvements in fitness and skill lead to an improved self-image and confidence. The grading system teaches you to set and work towards goals. Challenging and overcoming obstacles during training develops the strength of mind to successfully deal with other aspects of your life. Great importance is given to respect, courtesy, and self discipline during our classes.

Our objective is to ensure our students receive the greatest possible benefits from training in authentic Japanese Karate. To do this we highly recommend that you attend training at least twice a week.
